The Mayor and City Council appoint all Boards, Commissions and Authority members.
Commissions are advisory bodies that make recommendations to the City Council for legal action.
Citizens are welcome to attend any Board, Commission, Authority or Council meeting.
The following is the list of the Boards, Commissions and Authorities of the City and their meeting times and locations.

PLANNING COMMISSION
The Planning Commission meets the 1st Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. at the City Hall Council/Court Chambers.
7 members, 3-year terms.
Qualifications: City resident and registered voter.

CEMETERY PRESERVATION COMMISSION
The Cemetery Preservation Commission meets the 2nd Thursday at 4 p.m. in the City Hall Conference Room.
7 members, 4-year staggered terms.
Qualifications: Members of the Cemetery Preservation Commission shall be persons who have family members buried in the Kennesaw City Cemetery and/or who own plots in the Kennesaw City Cemetery.

KENNESAW DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (KDA)
The KDA meets the 3rd Wednesday at 7 pm in the Community Development Conference Room.
7 members, 4-year terms.
Qualifications: Must be a City taxpayer residing in the City, and the governing authority may appoint no more than one member of the governing authority.

KENNESAW DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (KDDA)
The KDDA meets the 2nd Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. in the Council/Court Chambers.
7 members, 4-year terms.
Qualifications: City resident, Owner/Operator of business in Downtown Development Area and resident of County, combination of qualifications of "a & b". Eight hours of training in downtown development and redevelopment programs required within 12 months.

HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION
The HPC meets the 3rd Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. in the Council/Court Chambers.
7 members, 2-year terms.
Qualifications: City and County residents with a majority being City residents.

ETHICS BOARD
The Ethics Board meets the 3rd Tuesday of January, April, July & October, at 6 p.m. in the City Hall Conference Room.
5 members, 2-year terms.
Qualifications: City resident with residency of 12 months prior to serving as a member. Shall not be a member of any other board or commission.

RECREATION AND CULTURE COMMISSION
The Recreation and Culture Commission meets the 1st Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Ben Robertson Community Center, Conference Room.
7 members, 2-year staggered terms.
Qualifications: No more than two members of the Commission shall be non-residents. Members of the commission shall be appointed for two (2) year staggered terms. For the initial appointments, three members of the commission shall be appointed for one (1) year terms and four members of the commission shall be appointed for two (2) year terms.

URBAN REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY (URD)
The URD meets on as as-needed basis.

ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITTEE
The Environmental Committee meets the 4th Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the City Hall Training Room. Formerly the GreenSpace Committee.
Members are appointed by the Mayor for 2-year terms.
